Writing a comprehensive motivation to own and use a firearm is one of the most important aspects of the application process.

First and foremost, your motivation should address the persons state of “Fit and Proper”. Most motivations do not address this sufficiently.

After this item has been addressed, you should concentrate on motivating the need and use of the firearm.

Writing a comprehensive motivation is a critical factor for a successful application, as well as assist during an appeal. If your application is refused and you need to appeal, you cannot add any additional evidence. It is therefor important to add all relevant information in your motivation.
